Larimar was born to a poor family in Brodia.[2] She was later abandoned by her parents and taken in by an assassin who trained her in his profession.[2] Later, the assassin was afflicted by an incurable disease; he told Larimar that he set her up to succeed him, offered all the money they earned together as payment, and tasked her with killing him.[3] Despite feeling scorn for him, Larimar also felt she would not be alive without him, so she honored his last wish.[3] Afterward, Larimar gave up assassination and changed her name to Yunaka.[3]

Yunaka stole Micaiah's Emblem Ring to sell it for cash, but upon hearing Micaiah's desire to be united with Alear, she changed her mind. As a form of punishment, Alear and Alfred agreed that they recruit Yunaka to their army. Yunaka laid the groundwork for her project to set up a fund for underprivileged kids so they do not have to go through what she went through.

Endings

Hidden Mask Yunaka
After the war, Yunaka became a street performer. She put on a captivating act for a few years, then vanished without a trace. Did she perish? Start a new life far away? The truth is unknown.
Some say the Divine Dragon Monarch's use of unusual words was due to her influence.

Divine Dragon Alear & Hidden Mask Yunaka
Alear became the new Divine Dragon Monarch. His/Her bonds with the rulers of each nation resulted in lasting peace.
Yunaka became one of the new monarch's steadiest supporters behind the scenes. It is said her ability to impersonate anyone came in handy quite frequently.

Yunaka’s here from Elyos with a “hiya papaya” to celebrate the winter festival with us! She’ll be heading out in her special festival outfit to give presents to the children. I love how her outfit matches the striking red color of her hair! Oh, and look—the cape she’s wearing is lined with a starry-sky design on the inside! Wait, what’s that dagger she’s carrying? Is that…some kind of cake decoration?! Oh, I see. It’s one of those picks that you stick into cakes! Yunaka’s always ready for action, and she can’t wait to get out there and deliver some presents. I can already hear her voice echoing across the starry winter-festival sky… “Zappy holidays!”

  2. 2.0 2.1 "Yunaka: I'll start from the beginning. And I won't lie. The girl in this story isn't named Yunaka. She's called Larimar. She's born to a poor family living in a town on the Brodian bluffs. Her parents abandon her. She isn't even old enough to understand why. But then a man takes her in...an assassin.
    Citrinne: Oh!
Yunaka: He tells her he wants a little helper. So he trains the girl to kill.
    Citrinne: To what end?
    Yunaka: Easy money.
Citrinne: So this man foisted his profession onto you?
    Yunaka: Correct.
" — Yunaka and Citrinne in their B support, Fire Emblem Engage
  3. 3.0 3.1 3.2 "Yunaka: All right. The girl does as she's told—as she's trained to do. Killing is just a job to her. Not personal. Until one day, when the assassin who raised her falls ill. His disease is incurable. He has little time left. So he tells the girl the real reason he took her in was to set her up to succeed him. And then, offering all the money they'd earned together as payment, he gives her one last job.
    Citrinne: No...
Yunaka: She feels mostly scorn for him. But she also knows that, without him, she wouldn't be alive. So she honors his last wish. She puts him down.
    Citrinne: ...
Yunaka: After that, Larimar gives up murder for hire. Tries to move on with her life. She changes her name to Yunaka, and that's it. Here she is. Being someone new.
