The Dead Town

The Cold Voyage (Japanese: 冷たい海路 Cold sea route) is the eighteenth chapter of Fire Emblem Engage. In this chapter, Alear's army sets out to assail Elusia.

Plot

Main article: The Cold Voyage/Script

Sombron berates Zephia and the Four Hounds for losing two of the Emblem Rings. He hands an enchanted helmet to her, which she is to put on Veyle in order to reawaken her violent personality. Zephia then informs him that Veyle believes one of her siblings still lives, despite Sombron initially believing her to be his only living child. She reminisces about another of his children, who had fiery hair and eyes, but Sombron attests that he killed that one himself. As Zephia did not collect that child's body at the time of their death a thousand years ago, Sombron orders her to find the child and bring their corpse to him.

Out at sea, Alear thanks Alfred for procuring their army a ship. The two of them discuss their plan of action alongside Diamant and Ivy: they would learn about Veyle's and Elusia's current standings from Elusia's own people before approaching the castle. Vander interrupts the group to inform them that Elusian ships are approaching theirs, and they soon prepare for an upcoming battle.

After fending off the invaders, Alear and Ivy take notice of Givre Port in sight. While Ivy goes off to inform the others, Alear contemplates their return to Elusia without Marth, Celica, Micaiah, or Roy. Later, Sigurd and the other Emblems discuss how to use their once-per-millennium power once all twelve reunite, as well as a special "miracle". Eirika and Leif suggest performing this miracle on Lumera, though Ike and Lyn disagree. Lucina notes that they have never performed the miracle before, and Sigurd remarks that the cost of using it may be too great to consider.

Having learned the truth about Veyle, the party heads to Elusia, where the Fell Dragon waits.
