Nidhogg

Nidhogg (Japanese: ニーズヘッグ Nidhogg), also known as the Serpent Bow (Japanese: 蛇弓 Serpent Bow), is a regalia bow introduced in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. It is one of the ten Sacred Twin weapons of the continent Magvel, and is the property of the Kingdom of Frelia.
History
Along with the other Sacred Twins, including its twin weapon Vidofnir, Nidhogg was used by Magvel's Five Heroes in antiquty to combat Fomortiis, the Demon King, owing to their great power over monsters. Enshrined together with Frelia's Sacred Stone centuries ago in the Tower of Valni, Nidhogg and Vidofnir are entrusted by King Hayden and Prince Innes to Eirika and Ephraim of Renais, for use against the Demon King once more.

Other appearances
Monster Hunter: Frontier G
Two variants of Nidhogg are present in the Wii U version of Monster Hunter: Frontier G, a massively multiplayer online RPG in Capcom's Monster Hunter franchise, accompanying the Chrom and Lucina armor sets as part of a crossover promotion. The standard brown-colored design from Awakening (Japanese: 双聖器ニーズヘッグI Sacred Twin Nidhogg I) accompanies the Chrom armor, while a white-colored variant (Japanese: 蛇弓ニーズヘッグI Serpent Bow Nidhogg I) accompanies the Lucina armor.[1]
Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.
Lucina again wields Nidhogg in her guest appearance in Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.[2]
Trivia
- Nidhogg is the only Sacred Twin weapon available in Fire Emblem Awakening (not counting Excalibur, which is representing the Archanean variant rather than the Magvel variant). As a result, it is also one of four Sacred Twin weapons (again, not counting Excalibur), to appear in more than one game in the Fire Emblem series (the others being Siegmund, Sieglinde, and Vidofnir, which all also appear in Heroes).
- Nidhogg and the Double Bow are the only regalia weapons which gives a higher equipping stat bonus in Awakening (+10 Luck in Nidhogg's case) than in its original games (+5 Luck).
- In spin-off appearances post-Awakening, Lucina has been twice depicted as wielding Nidhogg as one of her primary weapons, in both Monster Hunter: Frontier G and Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. In Awakening itself, while Lucina can potentially wield Nidhogg through reclassing, no overt connection between her and the bow is hinted at.
