The Brave Axe (Japanese: 勇者の斧 Brave Axe) is an axe introduced in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and present in all subsequent installments apart from Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. It is one of the four core brave weapons of the Fire Emblem series, and it allows its wielder to strike twice as many times as they otherwise would.

Trivia
- In both Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776, the Brave Axe is obtained from a mysterious woman who emerges from bodies of water, as a nod to the Lady of the Lake of Arthurian mythology. Lex is seen getting his Brave Axe from this woman in an event in Chapter 1 of Genealogy, while in Thracia 776, Halvan's sister Patricia got hers off-screen after encountering this woman in a mountain lake.[1] Lex's reception of the Brave Axe is also based on the fable of the Honest Woodman, as Lex receives it as a reward for honesty when presented golden and silver axes.
- In Awakening there is a minor bug relating to the Brave Axe. When the game tries to give an enemy a forged brave axe, that enemy will instead carry a forged Silver Axe. This can be seen with Lepus in Chapter 22 and Algol in Death's Embrace, both of whom carry a standard brave axe on normal difficulty and a forged silver axe on both hard and lunatic difficulty, even though in the map data they are assigned a forged brave axe on these difficulties.
