Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War (Japanese: ファイアーエムブレム 聖戦の系譜 Fire Emblem: Genealogy of Holy-War) is a series of five novels authored by seasoned board game designer Ginichiro Suzuki and illustrated by Rika Suzuki in her first role related to the Fire Emblem series, based on the narrative of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, the forth game in the Fire Emblem series. The series started with an eponymous novel which adapts the events of the game's second generation.
Following positive reader reception, the book was followed by a two-part prequel subtitled Sigurd’s Story, which not only retells the events of Genealogy of the Holy War's first generation, but also fleshes out the backstory of the game's lore by detailing events only briefly explored in the game, such as Galle's first meeting with Loptous and the life of the crusader Bragi. The series was rounded out with two short story anthologies that contain completely original vignettes focusing on a variety of both original characters and characters featured in the game.
