Buffer (Japanese: 回避・盾の鼓動 Evasion · shield pulse) is a passive type B skill which debuted in Fire Emblem Heroes; in spite of its name, Buffer has only one tier: Buffer 4. Buffer 4 is similar to Shield Pulse, as it reduces its user's special cooldown count; reduces the foe's speed and defense; boosts the user's speed when it is compared to another unit's; and reduces the damage the user takes based on the difference between their speed and their foe's.

Heroes	At the start of turn 1, if foe's attack can trigger unit's Special, grants Special cooldown count-2. Inflicts Spd/Def-4 on foe during combat. If a skill compares unit's Spd to a foe's or ally's Spd, treats unit's Spd as if granted +7.
